Gresham police department use of force and firearms instructor Ryan Rasmussen is caught lying to Judge Thomas Ryan on the witness during my trial.
Officer Rasmussen was rushed in as an ambush witness, allowed by Judge Ryan after both the prosecution and the defense rested, by request of Multnomah County DDA's Kate Molina and Todd Jackson to serve as the prosecution's "use of force" expert, after my team's use of force expert concluded that my actions were perfectly reasonable and in line with the self defense statutes.
One of the things that my expert witness relied on were the various different charts, wheels, and graphs that are known as the "use of force continuum". Katharine Molina and Todd Jackson had to discredit such charts by making the case that those are outdated.
During Officer Ryan Rassmussen's testimony, he was asked about the use of these charts. That's when the fun begins, and we catch him in a straight lie. I'd say it doesn't get much better than this.... but it does.
