Office Overloaded is a quirky typing game that came out in February of this year. I enjoy typing games so of course I had to try this out! I also needed a reason to buy more games for the Spring Steam Sale lol.
The standard game mode has you play through a day's work as a simple office worker. You start off with an empty desk and can progressively use the money you earn each day to buy helpful items from the shop in the main menu. Some of these items are permanent upgrades, such as the plant reducing your stress levels (reaching a full stress bar burns you out and you have to start back at day 1) or the money cat that earns you more earned money. As your performance bar fills, you are offered the opportunity to get a promotion, which adds more mechanics.
Upon reaching the rank of manager, you begin to receive corrupt documents with some pretty terribly spelled out words. You have to use the Shift mechanic to discard them; if you just type out the word normally, you'll get hit with a mistake on your counter. The way I figured out how to manage this weird mechanic is, you don't have to hold shift while you type out the word (though it helps so you can see exactly what you're typing on bigger words). As long as you hold Shift as you type the last letter in the word, the document will be discarded and it won't count against you.
I am assuming that I won the CEO battle despite being one document behind is because he made more mistakes overall which may have tanked his score. I was pretty sure I had failed but miracles do happen everyday!
Cute little game! I recommend it if you like these simple typing games.
