A CB radio operator says using Winlink and JS8Call software is "cheating". He believes these software packages are enabled by the Internet.
For the record, Off-grid means I'm not using the internet, and I'm not using grid power for my communications needs.

$Elecrow 7 inch raspberry pi touchscreen for DIY Victron Cerbo GX I wanted to add the Victron Cerbo GX to the off-grid solar powered ham radio camper trailer project. Sadly the Victron Cerbo GX and Victron touchscreen were too expensive. So instead, I found the Elecrow 7 inch touchscreen and a raspberry pi. Combined with the Victron Venus OS, I was able to build my own battery management system for a fraction of the price.
