Roger Reeve's first book of poems is King Me, which won the VCU's Larry Levis Reading Prize, the John C. Zacharis Prize from Ploughshares, and the PEN Oakland/Josephine Miles Literary Award. He has won a Whiting Award in 2015, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, a Hodder Fellowship from Princeton University, and a Pushcart Prize. His next book, On Paradise, is forthcoming from W. W. Norton.
The Offen Poetry Prize is awarded to an established Chicago poet who then selects a UChicago student to read his or her work. Roger Reeves selected Emily Yoon for her inventive ability to deal with both the political and the artistic.
