The Brythonic Pantheon | Of Beltane - Poetic Description of The Events Surrounding Beltane During The Time of Our Ancestors @TheBrythonicPantheon | Uploaded December 2020 | Updated October 2024, 55 minutes ago.
At the height of Spring and eve of Summer
On the Swallows return
A magic has begun
All home dwelling, barn and crocked wooden fence
All build, window, door and livestock too
Upon which the yellow May flowers adorn
All placed in sweetness and in joy
In the village those of the whites, reds and gold arrive
Those of the know, Of the Oak, mistletoe and silver sickle
Children gather, a circle they form
They sit and listen to tales of heroes, villains and foes
Of times when Gods walked the land and bestowed greatness upon their beloved ancestors
For it is time, time of the Queen, The Queen of the May, The May Queen
Time of the union of Earth and of Sky
Time of Bel, Beli, Belenous as we build his fires
The Man of the Wood, Jack in the Green, The aspect Green Man
Born of the Solstice of Winter, rising in strength and power to the May eve, claims his place as consort in union
We enact a future that is to come
We set light the fires of Bel, the sun of regeneration and purifying light
We guide herds between his towers that they be fertile and purified of disease
and leap the flames to show of fertility and growth
Then do the young collect blossoms of the woods
The Maiden Goddess is manifest, The Goddess of Spring, The May Queen.
The Young Oak King, as Jack-In-The-Green, The Green Man,
A love is kindled, a union is consummated, The May Queens fertility and a bountiful harvest is ensured.
