Hi guys, so I found this video quite hard to film as I've not been feeling very well the past couple of days. Just a cold, you know, the usual cold weather nonsense. Anyway, I don't think I've entirely done justice to the points that I was trying to make, particularly in regards to Own Voices October, but I also wanted to bring you a video this week and this is what I managed. I think that reading Own Voices books is super important, and have carried my choices for that read-a-thon over to this month, but I am also super glad that I used the month to read a book about someone's experience of their own country. I also really want to read some first hand experiences of other voices in my own country as well as lots of other types of biographical material, as I only say in the video that I think it is important to read about other countries when I meant to include so many other groups of people!
Hopefully I'll get more coherent again soon! This message doesn't seem much clearer!
