October 29: Madison Area Technical College

Dr. Jennifer Berne, Rotarian and President of Madison Area Technical College, gave a sweeping view of the school and its impact on Madison and the region.
Her stated theme was that MATC students become the essential citizens that make the world a better place. She emphasized that local students are becoming prepared to contribute to our broader local community whether as CNA’s, firefighters, veterinary assistants or dental assistants, as well as others being prepared to complete Bachelor level degrees at 4-year colleges.
Along with four satellite campuses, MATC provides 200 different degrees. The 16 area technical schools in Wisconsin, in total, represent 44% of all college freshmen in the state.
