Everyone has been asking if Sonoma is compatible with older Macs using OpenCore Legacy Patcher. I have some great news and warnings to share in this video. I'll give you a status update on the current situation. Let me know if you have any questions!
NOTE:
#1 OCLP 1.0.1 IS LIVE! You can watch my latest full OpenCore Legacy Patcher 1.0.1 with macOS Sonoma video here -- youtu.be/eGR2qGw9lG8
#2 If you would like test an OCLP Nightly beta version & macOS Sonoma 14.0 on a test Mac You can use the nightly beta version below or follow my video here - youtube.com/watch?v=dXsq4Ncz6jY
For your main older Mac I recommend not upgrading until at the very least OCLP 1.0.0 is released on October 2nd, 2023. (Still recommend Monterey or Ventura as they are stable)

DISCLAIMER: Please understand that installing macOS Big Sur on your unsupported Mac is a best effort by the community. A ton of work went into getting the patcher to work! Some things might not work exactly right but it's really really close. I would not recommend installing on a system that you rely on for work or school. ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR FILES FIRST BEFORE YOU UPGRADE! The good news is that you are getting the latest security fixes from Apple. Some might argue that upgrading to Patched Monterey makes your Mac safer since Apple is no longer fixing security issues on 10.13 and below.

This database will contain download links for macOS Seqoia 15 full Installer pkg files (InstallAssistant.pkg). This file is the same full installer that you would download directly from the App Store for Intel and Apple Silicon M1 Mac Computers. The InstallAssistant.pkg is stored on Apples servers and contains the full Install macOS.app. Once downloaded, all you need to do is install the pkg and the full installer of macOS will be in your applications folder. This change was made when Apple revised the full installer for Big Sur. The InstallAssistant.pkg is not available for Catalina or Mojave.
