If you dont have any explosives when you enter DC (e.g. strength), what I do is get bombs and press down the switch for the raising pillar, Light the eyes and get the hover skull + blowable wall skull. Then save warp and goto the staircase room using the pillar. Get the 2 skulls there and leave the room from the bottom door and enter the head to get the last skull.
