This segment was basically pure luck manipulation. Quickly performing the BK skip is pure luck, even fighting Phantom Ganon requires luck. The painting part is fine, but reflecting his energy ball is not. Only about 50% of the time will in actually hit him. And since PG requires two cycles, only 1 in 4 times will I actually kill him with no mistakes.
To top it all off, after the Forest Medallion cutscene, I have the hardest luck manipulation for the segment. I have to get at least 20 rupees and 2 bomb drops from the bushes by the GS. This is pretty difficult. It took over 15 times to get and after only making it this far once every 20 minutes or so, that's a good 5 hours of recording to pull off this segment.
Amazingly though, when I finally do meet the requirements I set for myself, I get not 20 rupees, but 40 which is how many I need for segment 49! That'll save a good 2-3 seconds in segment 48. Not only that, but I get an additional bomb drop!! That'll save another 2-3 seconds in a future segment!
However, I got some rotten luck getting to LW. I hookshot the wrong fence somehow and lose 3 seconds. I decided to keep it as overall I gained 3 seconds and the rest of the segment went great.

This run aims to obtain the Golden Axe in as fast a time as possible using only the original game. This run is played on Gamecube with a standard Gamecube controller.

I referenced documentation I compiled of all the different acres a town can start with and the default tree locations found in each acre. This information is invaluable for this run so you dont have to manually count the number of trees in a given acre. Even with this information though, its difficult to quickly track every acre and determine how many trees will be needed to be planted (or chopped down) for a given acre.
The way the perfect town point system works is summarized as follows:
-All normal acres must have between 9-16 trees or else it automatically fails to be perfect.
-Special acres that dont follow this minimum include: Acre B-3, Lake, Wishing Well, F-acres.
-Any acre (including special acres) that have 9, 10, 11, 15, or 16 trees in the acre are worth 0.5 points
-Any acre (including special acres) that have 12, 13, or 14 trees in the acre are worth 1 point.
-A total of 18 points are needed with all min/max trees per acre rule satisfied for a perfect town
-Weeds and trash are factors too, but not relevant to this speedrun (except to avoid having).
Once you have 18 points, you can choose to verify with the Wishing Well that your town is perfect, or you can do what I did and assume its perfect. After you save and quit, normally youll need to keep a perfect town status for 15 days, but an exploit can be utilized to quickly accomplish this. You can time travel backwards by at least 15 days (I choose a month for less inputs), reset the game, and then time travel back to the original day and the game will think at least 15 days have passed. You reset the game so that weeds dont appear in your town which would result in a no longer perfect town. I then reset once more because Resettis 2nd dialogue is much faster than his 1st. After that, all thats left is to talk to the Wishing Well and get the Golden Axe! Timing ends on the fist bump cheer from your player character.

Had a few hours to kill, decided to go for some offline runs and got a World Record by 2 seconds! Coincidentally, that happens to be how much time playing on the Wii vs. Gamecube saves and I recently switched to Wii for All Debts speedruns. Also, I just attempted to learn an improved Shovel code minutes before this run. Nice. Will still aim to improve this time when the opportunity arises.")

Sub-8 Hours!! This speedrun aims to complete the museum in Animal Crossing as fast as possible starting from a new town and ending on the final Blathers museum complete dialog. The player must catch or obtain and then donate all 40 bugs, 40 fish, 25 fossils, and 15 paintings to the museum. Pre-existing save data may not be used. Nook Codes or E-Reader cards that provide museum collectibles or golden tools are not allowed. Glitches and time traveling are allowed.
Im very happy to have achieved a new WR and sub-8 hour milestone with this run. This is the heaviest RNG category for Animal Crossing speedruns and despite some bad luck in this run, there was also a lot of good luck. This will be a tough time to beat.
