From Marco:
Some background information. 😇
Although there are about fifteen groups of Visconti cards, the Decks are 3: V-Brambilla and V-Modrone made for Filippo Maria Visconti and V-Sforza made for Francesco Sforza.
The others are cards copied from the V-S at later times - some are suspected fakes - and not useful for reconstructions, in addition to having a much lesser historical importance.
It is almost certain that these 3 decks had the Majors suite of the same size as the other 4, so 70 cards for Brambilla and V-S (14x5) and 80 for Modrone (16x5). For the reconstruction I took care to have at least all the missing traditional arcana in order to make the deck usable. (US.Games shot itself in the foot: how could it have occurred to them not to include Star, Pope and Popess? 😱) At this point I had 89 cards, as Lo Scarabeo, with 25 Majors of which 6 Virtues... it seemed logical to add Prudence and make 90. 😇
As well known, 6 cards of the V-S were made decades later; personally I reject these 6 cards and did not use them for the remake. (Actually, My Personal Visconti was expressly made to recreate the deck without these 6 cards! 😈) With this premise, in addition to Devil and Tower, we are missing Temperance, Star, Moon and Sun.
Self-loan was also used by Bembo to create his court cards. Look for example at the Queens of Coins and Spades of V-S, or the Kings of Coins and Batons: the same mirrored design. In short, where possible it is the most correct reconstruction technique (in addition to being the most convenient! 🤣)
Funny note: Star, Moon and Sun use the images that - years ago - I used as a model to create the stylized drawings of the Visconti Homage. Then I forgot about them and used other subjects for My Personal Visconti. I remembered them while working on the Modrone and recycled them.
Final note: I am perfectly aware that finding several V-S cards in another deck can be annoying. Fact is, I personally am much more annoyed by the clumsy modern remakes chosen by those who have previously completed the Modrone. In addition, these remakes do not deviate from the original V-S; if I have to have a rough copy I still prefer the original.
One of the things that makes the Visconti decks special is the expressiveness of the looks - Bembo was a great artist - and in my opinion the looks are the biggest loss of all the remakes of the Visconti decks I know.
Self Loan is a restoration technique, you use a part of the original drawing to recreate a missing detail, for example in the Rosenwald I used the face of the magician, mirrored, to recreate that of the lover. In this case I used the mirrored image of 3 court cards of Coins in which I replaced the Coin with a Cup or a Wand and changed the color of the dress.Fun Mystery Deck, I think youll love it!Marilyn from Tarot Clarity2024-07-18 | Some themes work really well with tarot, and I think this one does very well.

Yep, I said XV when my brain saw XXV, but I'm not prone to redoing videos for slips of the tongue.
I have observed that this deck is currently available on Amazon for under $20! It doesn't have all the fun extras, it now comes in a simple tuckbox, and it's possible they've changed the cardstock, but the art is the same.
***It has been brought to my attention that the Amazon deck might be a knock-off from China. Please be aware of that possibility. I do not condone purchasing knock off decks. ***

Deck Used from @ArtisanTarot tarotclarity.comJean Spangler Mystery Tarot Reading part 1 True Crime (Read Description area)Marilyn from Tarot Clarity2024-06-26 | Ok, I made a few verbal errors.
I made reference to an actor and the first time I referenced who he was I gave the last name of Russell. There is no actor named Kirk Russell. Who I meant was Kirk Douglas. Kurt Russell, a completely different actor, wasn't even alive in 1949.
My 2nd error was fixating on 1946 and 1953. This event occurred in 1949. I probably fixated on 1953 because I made reference to Marilyn Monroe being a starlet and 1946 because that's the year my husband was born. For these reasons I considered redoing the entire video. But because I had done the reading, I really don't like doing multiple readings on the same question, so I let it stand.
I still don't understand why the handbag would have been found in Echo Park if what the cards suggest happened, really did happen. Why was her handbag found there? Frankly, I should have done a reading on that as well. Maybe next video.
OVERVIEW:
In 1946, a young starlet went missing and her remains have never been found. Her name was Jean Spangler.
This video discusses the few scant details that may or may not have been relevant to what happened to this young woman.
As always, I ask the universe what we need to know, which isn't always everything there is to know, so keep that in mind.

Hi Marilyn! Thank you for this comparison video. 😊 I have a few things that I noticed about the colouring. We used two versions of the original deck from the National Library of France as reference. As you mentioned at the beginning of your video, the same woodblocks were used for those two decks and the one that you show in the video. Although I noticed that the stenciling is not the same, so some colours may be different. For example, the blue droplets on the Sun and Judgement weren't coloured on the originals that we used, so I made them yellow. On yours, they are blue. On the King of Cups, the ground doesn't have any blue either. There are also differences on the Ace of Coins, Page of Cups (bottom part of his dress) and many others. On card 13 (on the versions that we used) the grassy areas are green, except one which is yellow. I think originally all of them meant to be yellow (like on your version). I can tell because the stenciling is not precisely made, they just made the whole ground area yellow. They do this when there are many small areas that have to be the same colour. Instead of doing it one by one, most of the time they colour the whole surrounding area knowing that the black ink from the woodblock will cover what wasn't meant to be yellow. On yours, the grass was stenciled separately. How interesting! 🤔 On the two decks that we used, the black is not as strong as on your version, so the yellow peaks through. That's the reason why I added that yellow gradient on the ground. It might hold a meaning for some people (for me too), so I wanted to keep it. 😊 You mentioned the tiles on the King of Coins and Cups. I love these extra details too. Also on the Queen of Batons, the texture and fuzziness of her hair and fur cape is one of my favourites. Same on the legs of the Devil. I always appreciate it when I see any pattern or texture on these cards. It shows that they put that extra time into carving it. ❤️

Here's how I salvaged a very stinky deck (and its box) by eliminating its terrible odor. This was a last-ditch effort kind of thing. I came close to throwing the deck away, but I wanted to salvage it and this solved my problem.
Spraying it with perfume or storing it with a dryer sheet were not options for me because I wanted to eliminate the odor completely, not cover it with another stinky odor. Perfume and dryer sheets give me headaches.

Regrettably, I failed to mention their 22 card FF Solesio tarot deck (sitting on my table, how did I miss it?) from the Piedmont region of Italy. I showcased it in a recent video and I also did a side-by-side comparison of it to a facsimile and it held up very well against the facsimile.
