Cockpit of airbus A320 (like every other bigger aircraft) is equipped with third or even fourth extra seed, which is used for a safety pilot, if it is necessary or for crew in general. The 3rd Occupant seat is a folding seat attached to the right rear panel in the cockpit.
It can slide along the Y-axis to take up a position on the aircraft centerline. No longitudinal adjustment is provided.
The seat pan unfolds and locks only in the unfolded position, in the aircraft centerline.
