Sharopolis | Obscure Systems Showcase: 10 Games For The NEC PC88 @Sharopolis | Uploaded August 2015 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Although not obscure in their home country of Japan, The PC88/PC8801 range of computers remains pretty much unknown in the west. These 8-bit Z80 based machines had fairly high resolution graphics and later models come with impressive FM sound chips. Some well known game franchises made their début here, incuding Ys, Snatcher, Hydlide and Dragon Slayer, plus a lot of arcade conversions and some rare officially licensed ports of first party NES/Famicom games.
