WR is 7:30 IGT by 7rayD, hasn't been retimed yet but probably low 7m.
A lot of research has been done about how the maps are generated.
Even within the same save file which everyone is using, people are getting different presets for each world. Some people just don't have good world 1 seeds.
I'm lucky to have at least 1 good seed for the first world, but since it's just 1 it can be like 1/30 of getting it. It does allow me to do compassless for first world though.
My timesaves are not going the wrong way at the end of W2, generally better pathing and menuing, and faster boss fight.
All that in mind I can absolutely get world record back on the seeds I get, considering if I didn't go the wrong way I would've actually been ahead into W3.
