In the thieves guild quest you must steal Amantius Allectus's diary. The easiest way is to just wait and let Methredhel get it (Elf Lady who was at the super secret meeting). She will be sleeping till noon. Head to her house in the Imperial waterfront district near your own house (if you bought one). Pick the lock to get in then pick the chest right next to where she's sleeping. Return to the secret meeting place after midnight and give the diary to Armand Christophe.
