DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!

Yes, it seems that Hannah's found out about Carter's little secret. ^_~ If this was a professionally published comic book, this would set the stage for their relationship back in June/July. However, this is not a professionally done comic and it's not released on a monthly basis, so you've had to wait this long to find out why Hannah's a member of the main cast when she hasn't appeared in more than ten pages. ^_~ That'll change for the next issue, which starts this Friday with the cover page!

I'm actually really proud of this page. Not only did I use a very non-standard manner of my panel arrangements (like, say, one or two big panels or one big panel and two smaller ones), with the emphasized image and the three smaller boxes leading up to the emphasized image, but we also get to see a small bit of Hannah's thought processes and what her thought boxes look like. On top of that, it has a lot of detailed parts of it that show us a bit more of Lightbringer's "batcave," a very primitive little setup with a desk, a sewing machine, his costume parts all hung up (multiple costume parts in case one gets ripped and he needs to change in a hurt... what? How'd he make them all in a hurry? He's a single man living in a big city who devotes his free time to superheroing, you think he has hobbies, TV, or something to interfere with his costume-making? ^_~). I'm also very happy with how I drew Hannah in the emphasized panel, registering her shock but also getting a nice 3/4 view of her body.

The anime-influenced look for Hannah started way back in the beginning of issue 3. I call the look for this in my comic the "squirrel look." I'm not sure why, but it just seems to fit when I look at it. The fact is that I don't draw side views very well with noses just protruding out from the face, and this seems to blend better and make Hannah even more distinct on the pages.
