Oakley was born with a love for all-things outdoors—bug catching, mountain hiking, and aqueduct fishing. Her mother, Crystal Quionez, described her as the “happiest child you could ever meet.” They spent their days together, laughing, playing, and just loving life.

When Oakley was diagnosed with leukemia at two years old, everything changed for her and Crystal. Instead of spending their days outdoors, they’re now filled with hospital stays, clinic visits, needles, chemotherapy, steroids, blood draws, and lumbar punctures. Throughout all of this, Crystal has never left Oakley’s side.

Now, four years old, Oakley is still bravely fighting leukemia with the help of her compassionate care team at Loma Linda University Health Children’s Hospital.
