A stray bullet from an improperly established shooting range almost hit a police officer, the Oakdale Police Department said. Officers went to Wakefield Court at Delano Drive around 5 p.m. Thursday after getting multiple reports of gunfire in the area, police said. One caller said several bullets hit the building where they were working, and another caller reported hearing more than 30 rounds. "As officers arrived on scene, the seriousness of the situation became immediately apparent when a round struck the pavement approximately two feet from an Oakdale Police officer," a news release from the department read.
