Putting then Diamond Tool Holder to work #1
updated
Making a puller for a large (5.5") Capstan bushing.
Got a simple, but weird, project and I think my viewers will like to see what I am working on in this case.

Welcome friends, to the shop, I am happy you stopped by. Today's question is...Can you Fly...Cut? Lets do a little fly cutter insert testing. Two inserts cut the same material, same rpm, same carbide grade, same size, geometry, just the nose radius is different. Lets see what kind of impact this has on surface finish.
Results from last weeks give away and a couple of give aways this week as well.

Quick little project, to get onto another project, you know how that goes. Wanted to mount my 8" Kurt parallel to the table and decided I wanted to make some keys for the vise, finally. So some milling with the K&T and general messing around in the shop. Stay tuned to the end for a give away.

No metal cutting in this video, just 3D printing. Had some rubber HD mounts revert back to there natural state and make a real mess. I needed to make some parts to allow me to mount my hard drives back in the chassis. Lulzbot to the rescue with the help of Fusion 360.
The COVID 19 dust mask shortage got you down? Working around sawdust or grinding dust all day and don't want to inhale that junk? Well I might have an answer for you.

Why not visit the shop while I do a repair on a tool slide for a Powermatic model 90 wood lathe. Long time viewers will remember a previous job I did on this same machine making a bushing to allow the owner to use tools with 1" shanks instead of the 1 1/8 shanks that came with the machine.

Welcome back to the shop for the first video for 2020! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and that the new year finds you healthy and prosperous.
Lets get right to it, making a work stop for the Tom Lipton Rod Bender. If you have built a TLRD, this is an easy to make, very useful addition to the tool.
I hope everyone had a wonderful, and filling, Thanksgiving! Back in the shop with a short! Please like, subscribe, share, and click that bell! My email is at the end of the video for anyone looking to contact me.
Quick turn around on the Universal Vise. I have come to find out that it is a "Universal Vise and Tool" product. The largest size they made I understand. Lets get it put back together and discuss the found issues.
A little viewer mail and we revisit the APT MultiTool. The APT MultiTool is a wonderful way to drill large (ish) holes with low HP machines, not sure why I don't see more of them in use in small, home, shops.
Remember a bit back during a ShopADHD episode where we looked at my coil winding setup for the lathe? Well we are going to revisit that and implement a view suggestion to try to improve the performance of the setup.
Come along for the finale of the famous "Tom Lipton Pattern Rod Bender" I get to embarrass myself by TIG welding one actual work, lots of "boring head" and the finished product.

Sometimes you get ahead of yourself? I know I do, and this is one of those times where I jumped a step in my order of operations. And I get to pay for it with a little extra time and effort as usual.
Update on the Martin lathe, so tooling and tools for the lathe etc.

Back on Tom Lipton's Rod Bender, lots of smokey shaper action, drilling, tapping and general sweating in the shop.
Back on the Rod Bender project. Trying to make sure I get everything done on the table BEFORE I weld the pivot boss on and make work holding much more complicated.

Lets strike the first arc.
Long past time to feed the Monster! We are going to unbox, inspect, and setup a new Everlast Powertig 325 EXT.

I'M BACK!
Hello good friends, I am happy to finally be back in the shop. Thank you for choosing to spend some time with me here. Lets start a new project together.
Back in the shop with a little ADHD and the start of a small project, follow along with some viewer mail and problems with the crappy Sarmonic wireless microphone setup.
