YOU'LL WANT TO READ FIRST BEFORE WATCHING:
We know and love that beautiful Elven hymn to Varda, or Elbereth Gilthoniel as the Elves call her. But what you probably didn't know is that J.R.R. Tolkien actually got inspiration for that poem from something else...a Catholic hymn called "Hail Queen of Heaven, Ocean Star". Now that song is not sung to the same tune of "A Elbereth Gilthoniel", BUT...it CAN be. So, an idea popped into my head: "Well, if Catholics can do it for Mary and Tolkien can do it for Varda, why can't I do it for Jesus Christ?" And my love of "A Elbereth Gilthoniel" and of Latin said, "Do it. Let's try it."
And this is what I came up with, and I decided it would be a good idea to post this for Holy Week.
But I must confess that I don't feel too confident about this. I don't know how all of you will receive this. Some of you may like it, some of you may not like it, some of you may not know what to think...I'm just not sure how well this will be received. It would appear that I have a big love of sharing creative ideas on the internet.
With all that being said, I wish all of you a happy Holy Week and hope that this makes someone happy.
