The Night We Met by Lord Huron - Wolfestone Studio Wolfestone Studio 2024-09-03 | If you haven’t heard this song from Lord Huron, it’s very emotional, at least to me.I first heard it a few years ago on the Academy Awards when it was played for the In Memoriam segment. That song really touched me. This was a great opportunity to play bass again after decades away from it. Ivan Idea told me about this Ibanez Mikro Bass, so we got one. After we finished the music track, we thought it would be great to sing it live, except for the harmonies. We had to use a Lavalier clip on microphone, but it did the job.We hope you enjoy “The Night We Met”.

Wolfestone Studio singing with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band - Prove It All Night Wolfestone Studio 2024-04-30 | I want to share a dream that I have had for my entire adult life.When I was 19 years old, a friend took me to a Bruce Springsteen concert.Halfway through the set, the band starts to play Prove It All Night. To this day, I can’t really explain why, but the performance of that song hit me hard, right down to my soul. I never experienced anything else like it, and I knew right then and there, that I needed to create and perform music like that. I wouldn’t be surprised if other musicians have a similar story. I never sang a note in my life, except maybe in the shower.As a kid, I took guitar lessons for two weeks and quit. I took piano lessons for six months and quit. However, during my freshman year of college, I started a band, started writing music without knowing how to read music, learned to play the bass, and became the lead singer.It’s crazy!! I had no idea what I was doing. Still don’t. I didn’t know if I was even good at it. Still don’t. Not many people walked out when we played, so that was something. But it felt great. For three years, we mostly played original Prog rock, but the crowd always liked when we played Springsteen covers, especially Prove It All Night. So back to my dream. Imagine having a successful career in music and your favorite band, who really likes your music, invites you to jam with them. And of course, I would get to sing Prove It All Night with Springsteen and The E Street Band. That would be the greatest night of my life. Well, I never did pursue a career in music, and Im not expecting an invitation from the Boss anytime soon. Don’t feel bad for me. I have a great life. So here is the next best thing to jamming with the guys. I found the original Springsteen guitar isolated track, Clarence Clemons sax solo track, and Max Weinberg’s drum track, with his great driving beat. And guess what? I finally get to sing Prove It All Night  with The Boss and the band. I even produced it to get a live sound. So this video is as close as I’ll get to that dream, and I’m more than ok with that. I put my ear buds on, close my eyes, listen, and think, this is so cool!!!
Wolfestone Studio covers- Somewhere Only We Know by Keane Wolfestone Studio 2024-04-04 | We really got hooked on the band, Keane, sometime around 2005.Their lead singer has an incredible voice. I could never dream of singing like that. That’s probably a good thing because we like to put our own twist on covers.If you’re interested in our process, I normally do vocals in segments, because I am working it out on the fly. On this song, Jenny talked me into singing it straight through from beginning to end. That way, it would have that live performance feel. So it’s not perfect. But for one take, we would be happy if it came out that way live. We used all GarageBand IOS instruments. Thanks to Jade Starr for mastering this track. Get Up And Go (with Radio Taiso) by Wolfestone Studio Wolfestone Studio 2023-10-06 | Get Up And Go” is our Songtember 2023 submission. Songtember is an annual event created by Pete Johns from Studio Live Today. The goal is to write, record, and release a song in just one month. In “Get Up and Go” you might hear influences from David Byrne/Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson, and possibly Prince (I know, odd combination). When deciding on the direction for our video, Jenny wanted to create something that felt a bit like David Byrne, combined with an exercise video, and just happened to be reading about Radio Taiso, a morning exercise routine that has been practiced for nearly 100 years in Japan. People of all ages exercise in the early morning, synchronized with a radio broadcast. We found clips from Japan, and around the world, and re-imagined the routine with “Get Up and Go”. So here’s the story about why I decided to do this.A couple of months ago, Jade Starr was nice enough to sing on her show, “I’ll take you there” while playing acoustic guitar. She was amazing of course.It got me thinking that I started the process of writing this song while strumming the guitar.So I decided, today, just to get my phone out, throw the camera on and just play the song.I only did one take, so please excuse any Imperfections and I’m sure there are many.But that’s how I start writing most of our songs. I thought you might find it interesting.I’d like to dedicate this performance to Jade Starr and Russ 8889, who for some reason, are huge supporters of I’ll Take You There. Blue Days Ahead Wolfestone Studio 2023-06-23 | Jenny and I started a new project. We utilized live loops from Garageband IOS, deconstructed it, and built it back up by utilizing instruments and apps, including solo organ and sax. We did this to show that you can create music using the tools that are out there these days, even with little or no experience. There's definitely a lot of work involved, especially if you are writing lyrics and putting down vocals, but it's worth it when you hear the final product. I’m Begging You Please -Wolfestone Studio (lyric video) Wolfestone Studio 2023-02-27 | This is our first original song since the release of our very first album. “I’m Begging You Please” has been a work in progress for at least a year. When I first started this project, the music was totally different than it is now. After writing the lyrics, I felt it didn’t quite work with the musical style. So I kept the lyrics, and changed everything else. The next challenge was in the mix. I thought I had it down but Jenny had some concerns and took over the mixing. There’s a sub bass in the song and it was a bit overpowering. We think we got it right but let us know in the comments. I’ve noticed some people love the bass way up and some like it toned down. Finally, thanks to Jade Starr for mastering this song. If you join her on Patreon, it’s an amazing perk. And Jade does an amazing job. Wolfestone Studio covers Bruce Springsteen-Human Touch Wolfestone Studio 2023-02-12 | I only cover songs by artists who move me. When I listen to these songs, there’s just a feeling that I can’t describe.  I don’t want to just copy what they did, I want to express my feelings and emotions into the song. I’ve really enjoyed covering some of the artists from the 2010-ish era Like Phoenix, 2 door Cinema club, Empire of the Sun, Foster the People. However sometimes I feel the need to go back to my college days when I really started getting into music. That’s the case with this song by Bruce Springsteen.Some people love the boss, some people don’t, but there’s no doubt he’s one of the most incredible songwriters ever. Wolfestone covers Phoenix & adds lyrics- Wait, What? Wolfestone Studio 2023-01-14 | Yes it’s true. Phoenix Is one of my favorite bands, and a while back they cut an instrumental track call North.I listened to it over and over and really thought that I could come up with some lyrics. So we did. And we hope the members of Phoenix would be happy with how it came out. That’s if they ever listen to it. Who does something like this? We do.One sidenote; we ended up taking the same lyrics and added it to an original song called top of the world.
Long lost recording finally found - There’s No Need - Wolfestone Studio Wolfestone Studio 2022-12-09 | A while back, we recorded “There’s No Need” on GarageBand IOS. Unfortunately somehow we lost the entire project. We recreated the song but it just wasn’t the same. Recently, I was digging deep into our files and believe it or not, I found a file of the original. We still don’t have the separate tracks but we are thrilled to bring this song back to life.

Fly A Little Lighter - Wolfestone Studio - mastered by Jade Starr Wolfestone Studio 2022-08-27 | We challenged ourselves to write, record, produce and release a song in less than a day. It took us 14 hours to complete Fly A Little Lighter. Add 4 extra hours for a remix , and then Jade Starr mastered the song. So we met our challenge. It’s notour most polished tune, but it will be on our upcoming album because it’s special to us.
