Our second virtual NYRMA show will showcase the talents of the legendary Mose Allison. If you are not familiar with his name, chances are you’ve heard his songs as his work has been covered by countless artists including Van Morrison, John Mayall, The Who, Eric Clapton, The Clash, Elvis Costello and Bonnie Raitt, to name only a few. Born in the Mississippi delta, and influenced by the kings of jazz - Armstrong, Waller, Ellington, Jordan and especially Nat Cole, Mose Allison created his own blend of rustic blues and jazz and his songs featured profound and often humorous lyrics - many that fit right in with these strange and difficult times.
Our show will feature performances by Bill Shuren, Emily Duff, Tom Gould, Joe Perricone, Jim Treutlein, Chris Ripley, Tom Licameli, Eamonn Bowles, Christine Sweeney and Raecine Coles, along with special guest appearances by members of the NYRMA All-Stars. Once again, we will accept donations via Venmo @nyrma-rocks, with all money collected going to our performers who, now more than ever, need your support.
