Nylis is a deeply sampled virtual nylon-string guitar for Native Instruments Kontakt, created for expressive solo playing, realistic strumming, modern scoring workflows, and rhythmically detailed performances.
The library was sampled using a 2007 Höfner HGL50SE "Schwarzwald Edition" D. Fischer Natural Solid Masterbuilt Classical Guitar, carefully chosen for its warm tone, detailed articulation, and natural resonance. All core articulations were performed with guitar pick (plectrum), delivering defined transients, focused attack, and a clear yet organic nylon character that translates beautifully in both solo and mix contexts.
Rather than pursuing a sterile or overly polished sound, Nylis embraces subtle performance imperfections — micro-timing variations, string noise, tonal inconsistencies, and natural dynamic fluctuations — allowing the instrument to breathe and respond like a real, human-played guitar.
In addition to the pick-based core engine, Nylis includes two dedicated Expressive Sustain articulations performed with finger technique, designed specifically for lyrical solo passages and dynamic melodic phrasing.
