New York Film Academy hosted a live video Q&A with Oscar-Nominated Short Film "Please Hold" Writer/Director K.D. Dávila and Writer/Producer Levin Menekse. This live virtual event was hosted by the Director of NYFA's Film Festival Department, Crickett Rumley.


Crickett spoke with Dávila and Menekse about the making of their sci-fi satire, their world premiere at the Austin Fantastic Film Festival, screenings at Palm Springs International Shortfest and Indy Shorts, and their Oscar qualification following a Grand Jury Award at the Florida Film Festival.


"Please Hold," tells the story of a young man who is wrongfully arrested due to a computer error. Realizing he has no means of recourse in the fully automated, fully privatized justice system, he attempts to reach a human being who can set things right.


K.D. Dávila is a Mexican-American screenwriter. A Universal Pictures Emerging Writers Fellow and Film Independent Project Involve Fellow, Dávila has won awards for her past works at SXSW and Sundance Film Festival.


Levin Menekse, co-producer of "Please Hold," is a freelance story consultant by trade and was awarded the Annenberg Fellowship from USC's School of Cinematic Arts.
