Take a summer stroll through the heart of Midtown Manhattan with a walking tour along the newly transformed Broadway Pedestrian Plazas. Filmed on June 26, 2026, this walk captures the vibrant street energy of New York City during the height of the FIFA World Cup tournament season.
Our walk begins at the bustling intersection of 34th Street right outside the iconic Macy's Herald Square. Heading north up Broadway, we enter the Garment District's spectacular seasonal Urban Garden activation, which stretches from 36th Street all the way up through the low 40s. Watch how the city transforms these busy midtown streets into a park-like oasis complete with seasonal green turf, lush horticultural plantings, and open-air public seating.
A major highlight of this walk occurs between 39th and 40th Streets, where we step directly onto "The Runway Routine"—a stunning 200-foot colorful surface mural painted by the renowned Venezuelan-American artist duo Patricia Cazorla and Nancy Saleme. This massive pavement masterpiece celebrates the neighborhood's deep fashion roots with bold, unfolding floral motifs.
We continue navigating the lively pedestrian blocks through the northern edge of the Garment District, checking out the local architecture, food kiosks, and international foot traffic before ending the walk right at the gateway to 42nd Street and Times Square.
