A shocking stabbing in the heart of New York City has claimed the life of 32-year-old Erin Piacenti, a vice president at Bank of America.
Piacenti was fatally stabbed in Times Square in broad daylight on Monday. According to the NYPD, the attack took place around 4:24 pm near West 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue and appeared to be random and unprovoked.
A second victim, a 68-year-old man, was also stabbed and remains in stable condition.
Police say officers encountered a 49-year-old woman, Pamela Cisneros, allegedly armed with two large knives and advancing towards them. Officers opened fire, and Cisneros was later pronounced dead. The NYPD said she had a documented mental health history.
