The NOAA National Water Model (NWM) 10-Day Rapid Onset Flooding Service can be used to determine the location, timing, and duration of events where a rapid-rise in streams leads to high water. It is most useful for increasing situational awareness about where and when rapid onset flooding may occur in the medium-range. This video describes this forecast visualization, how it is produced, and how to use the service alongside other services.
