*About this show:* The legendary railroad man Bob Claytor, serving as Norfolk Southern's CEO, wanted to see the recently restored N&W 1218 pull a freight train - and so he made it happen. In May of 1987, 1218 grabbed 100 (empty) coal hoppers at the Lambert's Point coal docks to Crewe, Virginia. Bob wanted to see his newly rebuilt machine working a real freight train again - and she did. This show is a record of that outing.
This show has no narration, but does have the original in-camera sound. 1218 sounds great!
