digital foundry reviewed nvidia's new photorealistic lighting effect they plan to roll out soon for new and upcoming games. they showed a video of it in full effect. and they received massive backlash from the community for its terrible look on games making everything have the appearance of AI slop. this takes away all of the personality that creativity and uniqueness to the games art style in favor of making everything look so realistic it takes you out of the game. the whole point of video games is to escape away from the world not make everything look so real that it's creepy and jarring. but let me know what you think in the comments below do you like the new lighting effect or do you think it belongs in the garbage can.
