This is a comparison of the Gainward Phantom edition's of the GTX 570 and the GTX 770.
There are only two things that are different while testing
1. the GTX 570 i was using the driver 306.97 and with the GTX 770 i'm now using the driver 320.49, reason being that the latest driver messes with a mod for minecraft.
2. with the GTX 770 im now using EVGA's Precision X where as i wasn't using anything with the GTX 570.
Sorry about the video quality, i used my IPhone to record the screen to show true fps instead of using something like Fraps.
Computer Specs:
CPU: i7 960 @ 3.2ghz
RAM:G.Skill Sniper 4GBx3 DDR3
PSU:Thermaltake TR2 700w
Motherboard:Gigabyte G.1 Guerrilla 1366 socket
Games
(all game settings are maxed out for these tests and running at 1080p)
Resident Evil 5: Yes its not a power hungry game, in fact just about any video card in the last 3 years can run this game no problems. Thing i noticed is that yes at the start the GTX 770 was more than 100 fps than the GTX 570 but during the gameplay section the GTX 570 out did the GTX 770. Strange and Disappointing.
FarCry 3 Blood Dragon: Strange thing again in Farcry 3 Blood Dragon, the GTX 570 averaged about the same fps as the GTX 770.
Mafia 2: with Mafia 2 i had physx on high for both tests and have read that even the 780 has trouble getting great fps since physx is so demanding on the Gpu and that the best way to gain the best fps with these games is to have a sli setup. In the end the GTX 770 only got in front by 7.7 fps.
Tomb Raider: This is more what i had in mind when i upgraded to the GTX 770, there was a great improvement over the GTX 570. All settings were set to maximum and with the hair set on Tressfx. End results with the GTX 770 with 31.4 fps more than the GTX 570.
Minecraft Shaders: As i mentioned before the mod for minecraft is the shaders mod by Karyonix and the actual shaders are by and artist called Sonic Ether. The shader in the test is only for people who have made a donation that he has now stopped, you can still get the free one from his forum in the link below. Now with the shader, yes there is a fps increase by about 20-30 fps but you will see that the GTX 570 fps is more stable where as the GTX 770 fps is all over the place.

Conclusion: is the GTX 770 a good upgrade from the GTX 570?... From what i have seen so far i would have to say not really, in fact i'm quite disappointed, i would have thought that all my games would have at least a 15-30 fps increase but that not being the case.
I would like to know if anyone else has this card and these games and are getting better fps i would love to know and maybe find out if i'm missing something.
would i recommend this card?.......I don't think so from what i have seen, i would save a bit longer and go for the GTX 780 but that's just my opinion.
