Grant Victor’s family has been caring for their ranch and farm in northeast Oklahoma since 1891. In the early 2000s, Victor began using funding and expert advice from federal conservation programs to implement rotational grazing, a ranching practice that restores soil and grass health. These programs also helped him fence off the creek on his land, keeping cattle out and allowing vegetation to regrow—leading to noticeable improvements in the water quality in the stream and the lake it flows into.

You might not know it, but policy makes conservation and climate action possible. Visit nature.org/actfornature to tell Congress to protect funding that creates a world where people and nature thrive. preserve.nature.org/page/167450/action/1?
