The Israelites refused to enter the promised land of Canaan because they failed to believe that God could drive out the wicked inhabitants therein. Likewise, many Christians refuse to enter into the rest promised by Jesus because they fail to believe that God can drive out the spiritual inhabitants of fear, depression, addiction, etc., which sometimes dwell within them.
