New South Wales Premier Chris Minns is advocating for an opt-out button that would allow social media users to disable algorithms and view only content from accounts they choose to follow. The proposal aims to protect young people from being served inappropriate and harmful content, including graphic violent imagery and explicit material that platforms automatically recommend based on user demographics.
