An excellent compilation mix featuring exclusive tracks from the pioneering Christian EDM label N*Soul. For a faith-based label, I was quite impressed by the broad selection of genres and styles. My favorite track is High Base from Rhythmsaints. It has a nice mid-1990s Progressive/Epic House feel with rich soulful vocals from session vocalist Sani Gamedze. However, I would argue the highlight of the album is Virus' Absalom. Probably one of the best Progressive Breaks tracks I've heard in a long time. All overall the selection is nice, some of the tracks aged better than the others, but still worth a listen.

![Vibe 4x4: Mixed By Qualifide
Merry Christmas, TE Crew! Just wanted to thank you guys for putting this group together this past year. Found a lot of great artists and underground beats inspired by my favorite artist, who are pushing the limits of what House & Garage can be. So as a special Christmas gift, I present an extremely rare set from Qualifide. A super underrated artist who you probably remember for tracks such as See The Light and Just Being Fooled.
I dont know whats hes up to now, but I found what I think would be the rarest Garage mix Ive heard yet. This was included as a part of issue 4 of Deuce Magazine, May 2002. https://www.discogs.com/release/300048-Qualifide-Vibe-4X4 Only one collector has it on Discogs for $50, but you can now listen to it for free thanks to a lucky upload I found on Soundcloud right before it got deleted. A lot of unreleased goodies in this one. If anyone can contact Qualifide, let him know I appreciate his music and hope he can get his back-catalog remastered soon. Merry Christmas everyone and Ill see you in the new year. :)

![Revival: The Progressive House Journey (1987-1993) Mix 1
It took almost a year to put this together, but I cant believe Im about to do this but here goes. First a little background. My name is David and Im from Athens, GA, USA. I discovered dance music in my early teens during a very dark period of my life (parents divorce) which really helped provide some uplifting energy to an otherwise mundane life. My hobby turned into a passion when I discovered UK Garage and the sound of Todd Edwards. If you know the Garage scene you are sure to recognize Todds signature sound of melodic vocal chops, that are both hypnotic and deep, psychedelic and spiritual, euphoric and soulful. After more than 25 years in the business, there is still nothing else quite like it.
Theres an old book that was once called, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life and finally understood what that meant when I discovered his incredible work. Inspired to become a DJ and producer myself, I sought a more open-ended and experimental take on dance, as Todds tracks are known for genre-busting covering a very broad range of sounds, textures, and melodies. I also wanted to tap into the spiritual side of dance. House always had gospel roots, but Todds tracks came from different angle. His tracks had a little more energy and melody than your average garage track, but still within the 120bpm range. Almost rave like. With the religious subtext of his early tracks, he can really take you on a journey if you let him. (Especially if youre on that E!) Yeah, thats what I was looking for; tracks that can take you on a euphoric journey while still having some soul. Theres always Trance but I needed something a little closer to home. A Spiritual High, like you see in those revivals in those Pentecostal churches. As a preachers kid myself, this was personal since I was always a little self-conscious of my love for dance music. My search would eventually lead me to the sound of Progressive House. Everything about this genre captures the universal diversity of dance culture blurring the lines between House, Trance, and Techno into one cohesive sound.
In honor of Renaissances 30th anniversary, Ive decided to take on the #RenassianceChallenge. 3 mixes showcasing what I felt was the most innovative period in dance music history (so far). I wasnt born yet when any of these tracks came out, but I feel if I were there with a bag of vinyl, these are the tracks I would have dropped. I stayed clear of most of the bigger hits and labels because I wanted these mixes to be special with my own signature as if I was actually there back at Venue 44. What I discovered could only be described as classic.
Let me take you on a journey, just a simple trip. - Celeda
