On Wednesday October 10th 2012, Royal Norwegian Navy marked history by firing an NSM (Kongsberg's Naval Strike Missile) anti-ship missile from a surface vessel for the first time. The vessel in question was HNoMS Glimt, Skjold class coastal corvette. Five days later, on October 16th 2012, another NSM missile was launched from HNoMS Roald Amundsen, Nansen class Frigate. Both firing tests were reported as successful.
