The latest version of Nsight Graphics is now available. Nsight Graphics 2023.1 adds support for profiling Opacity Micro-Maps (OMMs) with the Vulkan extension VK_EXT_opacity_micromap. OMMs optimize complicated geometry for raytracing, and can now be debugged and inspected in the acceleration structure viewer. 2023.1 also introduces support for DirectStorage 1.1, and the Shader Profiler has been updated with new instruction execution stats per line-source, and function-level performance at the HLSL level. The Range Profiler has been removed in favor of GPU Trace, which features a new in-application HUD, and improved Trace Analysis with Shader Execution Reordering suggestions.
Lastly, Nsight Graphics is sporting a new icon that pays homage to the influence of Turner Whitted.
