On February 10, 1945, then-Vice President Harry Truman visited the National Press Club and played piano to entertain hundreds of servicemen gathered in the ballroom for the weekly World War II Canteen. Also at the Canteen was 20-year-old film starlet, Lauren Becall. Camera bulbs flashed after Bacall's publicist boosted her atop the piano as Truman played, capturing the most famous photo ever taken at the Club.
To commemorate that event, National Press Club historian Gil Klein presented a multi-media program -presented here - focusing on Harry Truman and the Press Club, whose first appearance here was just weeks before the famous 1945 canteen, and his last one being on his 80th birthday in 1964.
