As spring deepens with blossoms, we were delighted to host a showcase of "Nowruz Traditions from Across Asia," featuring displays of art, craft, food, and decor from embassies and DC-based cultural institutions, including from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the region of Kurdistan.
Nowruz, the Persian phrase for “new day,” marks the vernal equinox and the first day of spring.
Rooted in Zoroastrianism, hashtag#Nowruz was observed as early as 3,000 years ago; today, it is celebrated by more than 300 million people around the world, from Asia to the U.S.
