I’ve been in a very rough spot with my story Metal Soul as of late. I’ve been debating if I should give up, keep it, or redo it for a multitude of reasons. It’s been tough since I’ve been working on it for so long. It’s practically my baby. However, I heard this song and got an idea for a video that wouldn’t leave my head. So I made it a reality, and I’m happy I did. It really helped me dive back into Metal Soul’s current story one last time. It made me think about a lot of major story events and the issues I had with them. Thanks to this PMV with a ridiculously edgy song, I was able to realize some sort of reboot is the best thing for the story. I’m glad I fought through my doubts and the annoying art style to make it.
Since the visual storytelling here is really vague, I’ll give an explanation. Big spoilers for the story of Metal Soul and it’s sequel though I don’t know how much of it I’m going to keep: Aurin, the goat sheep human man, befriended this human girl named One. She was one of Aurin’s only friends but she understandably turned her back on him when he started doing some pretty bad stuff. Things start to especially escalate after Aurin murders the king in his kingdom. In Aurin and One’s final battle, Aurin uses his powers to rip out her soul. However, One is saved by a friend who also shatters the case in Aurin’s torso where his own soul is kept, killing him. Almost a year later, Aurin’s body and soul is stolen and put back together by a rival kingdom. Being that this is the second time Aurin has had his artificially soul reattached to his body, he starts to deteriorate badly, emitting a black liquid usually only present when a soul has been completely removed from a body. Realizing he doesn’t have much time left, he wants to make things right with One. In doing so, he ends up killing someone who made her life miserable in order to make her happy. She has some mixed feelings about it though. There’s a lot of details I’m leavingout but that’s mostly what’s shown in the PMV.
