Have I really felt at home anywhere that wasn't during my childhood? Where I am now doesn't feel like home- it's comfortable, but it's not quite home. My last place was also comfortable, but was it really home? For many years I think it felt like that, but near the end it didn't, not exactly, but there was still something pulling at my heart not to leave- perhaps packing up that apartment was a physical representation of leaving my friends and found family of so many years in the same place. I know it's sometimes said that people are what make a place home, so that might be what I'm missing. But now, after moving and starting over in a new place, I'm left wondering where I belong, if maybe "here" can eventually be "home", or if nowhere will feel that way.
