"The Nature and Practice of Non-Violent Love"
Summary:
Non-violence is at the core of Gandhi’s wisdom. But there is something even more profound: loving those who hurt you. And if you can do that…your enemies will become your friends. In this enactment of Mahatma Gandhi speaking and writing, Mr. McAvinchey will explore the power of Non-Violent Love, and a guided meditation will help you experience that love. Don McAvinchey’s portrayal includes Gandhi's philosophy of Non-Cooperation and Ahimsa, and those attending will feel the presence of the Mahatma.
Don McAvinchey serves as a therapist, spiritual coach, workshop leader and inspirational international speaker. He has led talks and portrayals as Gandhi to thousands across the United States, and on six trips to India and now this year to Sri Lanka. His message is simple: Gandhi's story deserves to be remembered, and there is much to live by from the example of his life. Don has led 135 of these talks and portrayals since 2007, and now brings Gandhi's iconic presence to UU Flint for the first time.
