Supporters and opponents of Measure 116, a constitutional amendment that would establish a commission to set salaries for statewide officials, legislators, judges and district attorneys, debate the rationale for the commission and the lack of public or elected oversight in an endorsement interview with The Oregonian editorial board on Sept. 17. Proponents include Luz Reyna with Oregon Futures Lab, Robin Ye, with East County Rising and Kathryn Weeks, co-owner of Peoria Gardens. Speaking in opposition to the measure is public interest attorney Dan Meek, who is also with the Oregon Progressive Party.
