An American sailboat captain whose boat is stranded by Australia's draconian border restrictions comments on the Novak Djokovic Australian Open visa situation. The fact that the tennis star got a visa with restrictions such as being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 means he has gotten star treatment. Too bad for the 20 time grand slam winner that he did not meet the conditions of the visa by having a recent confirmed case of COVID-19 or being fully vaccinated. We cannot sail to Australia because no Americans (and no Serbians) regardless of vaccination status can enter Australia without a special visa. Australians who are fully vaccinated can enter the USA no problem.
