One of my neighbors had quite a few visitors this week. How many bears do you see? Wait for the end! 😉
It’s a very beary Spring here in Western North Carolina! The average number of cubs for an American Black Bear (Ursus americanus) is 2.5-3 cubs. Apparently, this Black Bear Mama (Ursus americanus) has been busy with her five cubs. They came by the next day too.

P.S. ~This evening Daisy (our little dog) and I saw a Momma Black Bear with her three cubs. Yes. It was a surprise and we were cloe to them, but very careful. Daisy, our 16 lb. Maltese/Schnauzer dog, was in a stroller. I closed the lid and had Daisy stay inside the screened in carriage, as I walked slowly away. That makes seven different sightings of bears this Spring (so far). And all of them in our neighborhood!
