For those of you who watch Critical Role, you'll understand this and the picture that i also made for the video. If you don't watch it, then i highly recommend Critical Role, but let your imagination do the rest for now...
Vax'ildan, champion to the Raven Queen - the Goddess and keeper of the dead - fell in battle to a dreadful enemy. Knowing that his family of comrades were yet to face the greatest threat to humanity the world has ever seen, and that they may all end up following him into the dark abyss, Vax decided to make a bargain with his patron Goddess. He was returned unto the world of the living with new powers and a new strength, but on the understanding that once the task was done and the great foe vanquished, Vax'ildan would return once again to the Queen's side in eternal death.
He takes this opportunity to save his group - his family - known as Vox Machina and to give everything to their cause. To fight once again at their backs - and to say one last goodbye to those he loves most.
