The plaintiff and his brother say the defendant hired his brother to paint him a picture so he could give it to his wife for their anniversary. His brother finished the painting and emailed a photo of it. He loved what he saw, and then nothing came of it. They have no idea what happened, but they spent time and money on this project and are demanding payment. They’re suing for the amount they’re owed. The defendant says he told the plaintiffs he needed the painting by a certain date, which came and went. He claims he gave them a little more time, and that deadline passed yet again. When the painting was finally completed, he says it was terrible, and he’s not giving them a dime because his anniversary is long past.
