Much like chocolate and peanut butter, sometimes bringing different things together makes others take notice. Combining the Winamp MP3 player, Visual Basic 3.0, and the new art of CD-R burning earned me some interesting comments from fellow airline passengers. This 1997 collection of splashy-sounding 128 kilobit MP3 files was cobbled together during a 2-day marathon of ripping and audio capture from my CD's and vinyl. It doesn't match modern sound quality, but surprisingly the disc remains readable and usable after more than 25 years of attic storage!
