The inspiration for the song came from an interview featuring TV commentator Arne Scheie en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arne_Scheie and the national team manager Egil Olsen en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egil_Olsen where they were reminiscing about the match 20 years later, and Olsen claimed that Scheie had said "Vi har scoret i Marseille!" ("We've scored in Marseille!") at least a dozen times in response to the first goal. Actually, Scheie didn't. But he does in this song.
