I made this video comparing the 2011 Warner Archive DVD to the 2024 Warner Archive Blu-ray to show just how incredible the leap in quality is on the new release. Perhaps some day ALL Technicolor films (with negatives still intact) can be scanned, realigned digitally, and restored to this kind of stunning splendor!

This has been mastered directly from the 1990 LaserDisc release, not from VHS like most of the other copies floating around the internet. I authored the 13-part series onto 4 dual-layer DVDs and one dual-layer Blu-ray (all 11 hours and 20 minutes encoded as standard definition but in the H.264 codec with a max bit rate of 12mbps, higher than possible on DVD).")
