No I didn't hack the showcase. It's literally like easy demon or smth.

This level exists to fulfill my quota of releasing one level every year. Basically I was working on Achlys Eternal, which is maybe about 25% decorated by now. But then summer hit, I had to go work, I was tired af, and when august came around I kinda realized that "man I'm not gonna be able to finish AE this year".

And yeah I've been working on an under 60 second level since june/august, listen I'm not that fast of a builder lmao

So to fix that, I decided to make a medium length level. I've always kinda liked short levels, and I thought it'd be a good excuse to make one myself. As for why I picked Dry Out 2.0 as the song, idk I've just been listening to it for a long time and I like it.

As for what I've actually made. I knew from the beginning I wanted to try new things, so this level has far more "theming" than my other levels, which were more design/glow. A lot of inspiration came from cometface levels, especially WELL RESTED and NEW LIGHT (WR gave me a lot of ideas for designs, color usage, and those sideborder things, NL probably subconsciously gave me the idea to make a level that is constantly climbing upwards.). Some inspiration also definitely came from one of my favourite games Hyper Light Drifter, especially regarding colors.

Worth to mention that the "jelly" blocks in the second-to-last part are 100% inspired by chapter 2 from Celeste, but here they act like spider orbs. might reuse this idea later, I think it's super cool.

I think this level is a complete win tbh. I finished a level for 2024, I've learnt a lot about depth, making actual backgrounds, having more fun with colors, and more, and I think it turned out really really good :)
